Right fielder Frank Robinson smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the
Cincinnati Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 4 to 2.

Robinson provided much of the offense. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 8th
inning. Pittsburgh had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.

Bob Purkey(8-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 2
runs. Purkey was helped out by Bill Henry who recorded his 1st save. Bob
Friend(5-2) took the loss. He pitched 4 innings allowing 4 hits and no
walks.

'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Purkey, 'I was
just giving us a chance to win.'
