  The San Francisco Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 in 10 innings tonight and lowered their Magic # to Win the NL Pennant to 1. The Giants tied the game at 3 in the top of the 9th and won it in the top of the 10th when Tom Haller connected on his 16th Homerun of the season. Jim Duffalo picked up the Win with 2 scoreless innings of work.

prevailed in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Tom Haller hit a
bases-empty home run.  San Francisco finished with 10 hits in the victory.
 
The win went to Jim Duffalo(4-3) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Bob
Friend(18-9) was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 10 innings allowing 10
hits and 4 walks.
