Jim Bunning threw a 3 hit shutout and first baseman Norm Cash left the yard
and had 3 RBI as the sizzling Detroit Tigers topped the Boston Red Sox by a
score of 8 to 0 at Fenway Park.
Bunning(1-0) dominated Boston hitters. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and
1 walk in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 5.68 to 2.35. Detroit managed 12
hits in their victory.
Bill Monbouquette(2-1) suffered the loss. He surrendered 9 hits and no walks
in 6 innings. Detroit continued on their recent roll, their winning streak
