  After being chased early 2 days ago in the 1962 MLB All Star Game, Sandy Koufax came back with  a vengeance in today's game against the New York Mets. Koufax threw a 1-hit shutout as the Los Angeles Dodgers crushed the Mets 11-0. He walked only 1 and struck out 11. For Koufax it was his 14th Win of the season and tied him with Cincinnati's Bob Purkey and San Francisco's Juan Marichal for most in the NL. It was also Koufax's 2nd 1-hitter and 5th shutout of the season.

Sandy Koufax was on top of his game, blanking New York on just 1 hit and
center fielder Willie Davis smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Los
Angeles Dodgers destroyed the New York Mets by a score of 11 to 0 at Polo
Grounds.
 
Davis had a big day at the plate.  He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the
4th inning, lashed a single in the 7th inning and lofted a three-run
'big-fly' in the 8th inning.  Los Angeles totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.
 
It was the 5th shutout of the year for Koufax(14-3). Roger Craig(5-12) was hit
with the loss.  'I had my good stuff today.' Koufax said. 'As the game went
along I started to get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of
hitters.'
