1962 AL Game: Bal. @ Det.

May 29, 1962

  The ball was flying out of Tiger Stadium today and the hometown fans were happy most were hit by their team. 8 homeruns were hit in the game, 6 by 6 different players for the Tigers. Detroit won the game 10-3. Rocky Colavito led the 14 hit attack by going 4 for 4. Colavito hit his AL leading 15th homerun and drove in 2, upping his league leading RBI total to 45. Don Mossi went the distance for Detroit for his 4th Win of the season. Even he couldn't escape the longball, allowing 3 runs and 2 homeruns.

Rocky Colavito had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Don Mossi went the distance as the
Detroit Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 10 to 3.
 
Detroit took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning as they scored 3 runs on 3
base hits.  The highlight belonged to Chico Fernandez who elicited a roar
from the hometown fans when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home
run.  Detroit totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.  
 
The win went to Mossi(4-3) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Jack Fisher(1-3)
was given the loss.  He allowed 4 homeruns in 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
