1962 AL Game: Det. @ Bsn.

  The Detroit Tigers have been red hot and today Jim Bunning threw a 3-hit shutout while the Tigers defeated Boston 8-0. Since Detroit lost their opening game of the season they've reeled off 7 Wins in a row. They are in 1st place, by percentage, in the AL. Bunning threw a gem today and completed the 3 game sweep over the Red Sox in Fenway Park. Detroit will head home now for their next 6 games at Tiger Stadium.

Jim Bunning threw a 3 hit shutout and first baseman Norm Cash left the yard
and had 3 RBI as the sizzling Detroit Tigers topped the Boston Red Sox by a
score of 8 to 0 at Fenway Park.
 
Bunning(1-0) dominated Boston hitters.  He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and
1 walk in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 5.68 to 2.35.  Detroit managed 12
hits in their victory.  
 
Bill Monbouquette(2-1) suffered the loss.  He surrendered 9 hits and no walks
in 6 innings.  Detroit continued on their recent roll, their winning streak
now reaching 7 games and counting. 'I'm glad to get the win', Bunning said.
'We've got some good momentum going now.'
