1962 NL Game: St. Louis @ Pit.

May 28, 1962

St. Louis centerfielder Curt Flood drove in 6 runs with 2 hits as the Cardinals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 11-2. The 6 RBI are the most by any player in the NL this season. Flood hit a Grand Slam homer in the 2nd and had a 2-run single in the 4th to lead the Cardinal's attack. Ernie Broglio was able to coast to a complete game victory with all the run support.

Ernie Broglio tossed a complete game at Forbes Field as the St. Louis
Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 11 to 2.

Curt Flood was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cleared the bases with a
Grand Slam homerun in the 2nd inning and ripped a base-hit bringing in two
baserunners in the 4th inning. St. Louis had 15 hits for the night.

The victory was credited to Broglio(2-3) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Harvey Haddix(0-3) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around,
surrendering 10 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
