1962 AL Game: Det. @ NY

June 12, 1962
Though he is having the worst season of his career, Detroit Tiger Frank Lary is still a "Yankee Killer". Lary is 1-6 with a 7.36 ERA so far this year with his only Win coming against NY. Tonight, Lary got into a pitching duel with the Yankees Bill Stafford, throwing 8 scoreless innings of 5-hit ball before tiring and leaving with the score still 0-0 in the 9th. Detroit finally prevailed in the 11th inning when Rocky Colavito drove in Jake Wood from 3rd base with a single. Terry Fox pitched a perfect inning in the bottom of the 11th to get the Win for Detroit.
